Learning Observed In numeracy we have been learning our number facts. Jonny is being to develop an understanding of number facts to ten. He is able to create number sentences of facts to ten independently. Johnny is beginning to develop counting on strategies and is able to demonstrate confidence when using  materials (cubes) as a visual aid. He is beginning to gain an understanding that addition can be done in any order.

NZC Achievement Objective Know groupings with five, within ten and with ten.

Next Learning Steps Continue to develop counting on strategies. Work on  accurate number formation to twenty. Continue to work on writing number sentences to ten independently.

iExperience (Physical Education)

Learner: Jonny Tran  Learning  Coach: Mrs Bachu Date: 2.03.17 Learning Area: iExperience

Learning Observed In physical education we have been focusing on throwing and catching skills using small and large balls. Jonny is beginning to develop overarm and underarm throwing techniques and is improving his hand eye coordination. He enjoys collaborating with his peers during games and activities and is also enjoying tennis lessons with Mr Marcell.

NZC Achievement Objective Students will develop a wide range of movement skills, using a variety of equipment and play environments.

Next Learning Steps Begin to take your arm way back so that momentum builds for the throw. Continue to step forwards with opposite foot towards target.

iDevelop (Literacy)

Learner: Jonny Tran Learning Coach: Mrs Bachu Date: 1.03.17 Learning Area: iDevelop

Learning Observed In learning Habitat 4 we have been curious about learning our sounds. Jonny is beginning to develop an understanding of phase two sounds. He is able to recognise and use some high frequency words in his written work. Jonny is beginning to develop his own ideas for writing and is able to write simple sentences. He is beginning to develop his confidence and concentration when contributing in class discussions. Keep trying your best Jonny!

NZC Achievement Objective Students will associate sounds with letter clusters as well as with individual letters.

Next Learning Steps Begin to use connectives such as "and" and "because" to extend ideas. Continue to develop phonetic knowledge to enhance written work.
