During iDevelop (Numeracy) Johnny has been working on number knowledge.
Johnny has been exploring -teen and -ty numbers, numbers that are before and after and groupings within and with ten. During these workshops he has been making connections between written numbers and numerals.
Johnny demonstrated his capability by recognising the numbers 13 to 19 by the ending ‘teen’ and the naughty numbers 11 and 12. He was also able to make the connection that as the numbers go up they become bigger when it was demonstrated on materials. Johnny participated and contributed in many workshops on number knowledge and showed his collaboration by sharing his ideas with other learners.

Learning Observed
In learning habitat four we have been working on our reading and comprehension strategies. Johnny is able access his prior knowledge and is beginning to make meaningful connections during reading. He is able to relate the story to his own personal experiences and is beginning to answer questions by rephrasing the questions in his answers. He is developing his confidence to answer in full sentences. Johnny is able to use pictorial cues to assist his in formulating ideas when answering questions and is beginning to gain an understanding of how to describe settings. He is beginning to develop an understanding of how to ask questions based on a shared text. Johnny is able to collaborate and participate in peer and class discussions relating to shared texts. He has enjoyed reading the “The Hole in the King's Sock” and “Number One”.
