Learning Observed

This term we have been developing a range of soccer skills including familiarisation with the ball, dribbling as well as short and long passes. Johnny is beginning to develop his skills during passing drills he developing his focus and accuracy of passing and is becoming more aware of surrounding players. He is working  on his dribbling ability and close ball control and is beginning to focus on quality and accuracy rather than speed. He is developing the skill to to look up as much as possible to gain awareness of other players. Johnny is enjoying collaborating in soccer drills and related games with his peers and is beginning to develop an awareness of what good sportsmanship means.
NZC Achievement Objective

  • Practise movement skills and demonstrate the ability to link them in order to perform movement sequences.
  • Develop and apply rules and practices in games and activities to promote fair, safe and culturally appropriate participation for all.

Next Learning Steps

Shooting drills focusing on quality and accuracy when taking shots.
Approaching the ball at an angle and keeping the foot firm throughout.
